about me

I am an Associate Professor and Director of Graduate Studies at the Sage School of Philosophy, and Himan Brown Faculty Fellow in the Jewish Studies Program, Cornell University. I am a Board Member of the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy as a co-editor for the 17th century; an editor for PhilPapers; and an occasional editor for Philosophical Review. I'm also on the North American Spinoza Society Steering Committee.

With fellow members of the Upstate New York Workshop in Early Modern Philosophy I'm organizing an early modern conference in October 22-23, 2022 at Cornell; see my Events page for details.

I'm giving a talk on Spinoza's Idealism at the University of Chicago on Friday, Dec. 2, 2022, 3:45-5pm as part of the Chicago Modern Philosophy Roundtable.
